Our Performance

“Pupils make outstanding progress”, Ofsted 2013.

St. Matthew’s is a Church of England Voluntary Aided Infant School catering for children from the age of four to seven years. We work closely with the Diocese of Guildford and Surrey Education Authority. We are also part of the Effingham Learning Partnership and have close contacts with other local schools.

Inspirational teaching motivates pupils so that they are very excited about learning new things, and enables St. Matthew’s to be ranked consistently in the top 5% of Surrey schools for Key Stage 1 results.

In addition to Ofsted inspections, Church schools also undergo a denominational inspection – the Statutory Inspection of Anglican & Methodist Schools (SIAMS), which assesses the effectiveness of C of E and Methodist schools as Church schools. Read the St. Matthew’s inspection report here.
