Our Visions & Aims

“Exploring the world together.”

Every child is nurtured through a high standard of education and wealth of new experiences and challenges. Within a caring and Christian environment they enjoy the delight and discovery through learning and play.

St. Matthew’s Church of England Infant School aims, within a Christian ethos, to:

  • Provide a happy, interesting and stimulating learning environment where all children can develop positive attitudes to school, an enthusiasm for life and a love of learning

  • Identify and meet each child’s social, spiritual, moral, emotional and intellectual needs

We aim to achieve this by:

  • Developing skills, understanding and knowledge through a carefully planned yet imaginative curriculum, which is broad and balanced

  • Maintaining high expectations of all our children and high standards in all that we do

  • Encouraging an open door partnership between home and school and maintaining strong links with the Church and community

  • Integrating ICT fully into the learning environment

  • Creating a caring, secure environment where the Christian faith is expressed as the basis for good relationships

  • Equipping the children with the confidence and self-belief to achieve their dreams
